4 Outdoor Training Ideas To Enjoy The Good Weather

19 May, 2020 by Sahar Ajjab

The good weather is gracing most parts of the world these days. Yes, we can safely say that summer is almost here. Unfortunately, this year with the Coronavirus crisis, we can’t fully enjoy summer as before. However, with the recommended sanitary precautions, don’t let anything stop you from enjoying the good weather. In addition, there are several benefits of outdoor training on your physical and mental health. Without further ado, here are few outdoor training ideas, to make the best out of this ”exceptional” summer.

Outdoor Training Makes You Happier

In fact, fresh air doesn’t only make you feel liberated. According to a study published by the journal of Environmental Science and Technology, ”people who exercise outdoors have better energy levels, decreased tension, confusion, anger, and stress than subjects who only workout indoors.” Furthermore, making the best of these sunny days, allows you to get some Vitamin D intake, which is extremely good for your skin, body and mental health. (Especially after months of lockdown.)

Play Sports

One of the main activities you can do as part of outdoor training, is to simply play sports. Football, Basketball, Volleyball...Whatever sports you love to practice! In addition to doing something you love, you will also be getting your daily workout, and out in the open!

Go For A Run

If you have been at home for the past few weeks (which you probably did), then start with short runs. Your muscles have been inactive for a while, even if you are used to working out from home. In fact, going for a long run may make you feel ”back in shape”, but the risk of injury becomes higher. After few running days, you can go increasing the distance slowly, until you reach your usual level.

Weight-Loss Exercises

Furthermore, it might seem a bit weird to do CrossFit or Zumba somewhere other than your gym or home. However, and as we mentioned in the beginning, it will make you feel much better. Wether you can do it with few friends or family members, or alone, it’s highly recommended to switch from indoor to outdoor workouts. Because feeling emotionally and mentally well, has a great impact on your body’s reaction to exercise.

A Simple Walk

Finally, a simple walk every day is undoubtedly the best outdoor training you can do. Since walking has a lower risk than running, even if you haven’t been active during lockdown, you can go on long-walks. Not only is it a great exercise to regulate your breathing, blood circulation, and strengthen muscles, walking helps you calm down the mind and relax.
