5 Fitness Mistakes You Don’t Realize Are Doing

18 February, 2020 by Sahar Ajjab

Are you spending so much time at the gym, watching for you diet and still are not achieving your goal results? No worries, we have all been there. In fact, falling in love with Zumba classes and attending them twice a week may not be enough. Actually, this could be due to some fitness mistakes you don’t realize are doing.

We have looked at data from people who spend a good amount of time at the gym, but still complain not having reached their goals. What’s happening? Well, we have figured out that there few mistakes you don’t realize are doing, and that are not letting you achieve the best results. And honestly, we are all guilty of having believed these fitness myths.

Lots Of Cardio To Loose Weight

First of all, let’s get this straight: Cardio is a way for your body to ”get in the mood” of exercising. Does it help you loose weight? Sure. Is it the best way to do so? Not always.

In fact, on the long term, gaining lean muscle mass is the optimal way for your body to burn more calories. So, what you need is have a combination of high-intensity cardio, with some strength training. of course, don’t forget a solid nutrition plan, as it is key to the process of loosing weight.

Soreness Means an Effective Workout

Sweating and soreness don’t always mean that you’ve had an effective workout, and vice-versa. According to training experts, some people do acquire gains during their workouts, even if they don’t feel sore the next day.

Although getting sore after your first time at the gym means that your muscles have been stretched, but it’s not always the case. Actually,  the physical stress creates tiny, microscopic tears in your muscle fibers. However, not feeling sore doesn’t mean you didn’t benefit from your exercise.

You Will Burn Whatever You Eat

This is for a fact not true. Overeating will cost you a lot, as you will not burn all the calories at once, even if you go to the gym everyday. Watching your food intake is extremely important for staying fit. Moreover, post-workout meals are also crucial for your fitness progress.

Strength Training Means Heavy Weights

One of the biggest fitness mistakes you don’t realize you do, is believing that heavy weights will automatically increase your strength gains.

Although lifting is important to build lean muscle and gain strength, don’t count only on resistance provided by machines. Try to improve your strength training by using kettlebells, medicine balls, and resistance bands, instead of relying only on machines.

You Can Focus On Loosing Weight From Certain Body Parts Only

Finally, we all want to loose that belly fat, but things unfortunately don’t work that way. Additionally, focusing on loosing weight just from one part of your body will drain you mentally.

According to training experts,  “Fat cells are distributed across your entire body.” Therefore, if you want to loose weight from one specific part, you need to work on loosing fat from your entire body.
