Crosspilates: the new fitness trend you’ll want to try out

25 June, 2019 by Isabel Okhuijsen

Exercise

Fitness gurus and gym monitors are always trying to come up with new ways of getting people to break out a sweat, and here is the latest: “crosspilates“. It’s a new sport discipline inside the fitness world that aims to push your muscles to the limit without causing your joints or posture any harm.

What is crosspilates?

Training class

Crosspilates is the perfect way to burn calories, if this is what you are looking for. This type of exercise activates muscle fibers, meaning that even though you already stopped training, you will keep burning calories up to 4 hours after you’ve left the gym. Amazing, isn’t it? It’s like your burning extra calories, without any extra effort.

The MOTR

As its name implies, the training patterns are similar to those found in pilates classes: exercises are slow and and your breathing is controlled. However, crosspilates is more intense. It is mostly carried out on top of a particular apparatus called “MOTR” (“movement on the roller“), which allows you to work on coordination, agility, and balance.

A trend suitable for anyone

What’s great about this new fitness trend is that it’s suitable for anyone with a desire to exercise: from pregnant ladies to people who are not used to sports. Thanks to the MOTR you can adapt the exercises to be exactly suitable for you, meaning you can work on any muscle group you wish, with the right intensity, just for you.

The results

Fit

What you will obtain from crosspilates after a couple of weeks is an increased stability, flexibility and core strength. Plus, your balance and posture will have improved. Even your breathing pattern will feel better! Why not give it a try?
