Tips To Stick To A New Workout Routine

7 December, 2019 by Sahar Ajjab

If you are about to start a new workout routine, or still a beginner in the gym sphere, it can get hard sometimes. In order to stick to a new workout routine, you need to be prepared. Since we know the importance of training, we have gathered some tips for you, in order to stick to a new workout routine.

Pick Something You Like

when it comes to starting something new, it is completely normal to have second thoughts. be well aware that if you are a newbie, you will struggle with anything. However, if you opt for something you actually like, it might make the suffering a bit less bitter. Start with a workout routine that you enjoy, like Zumba if you like dancing, or boxing if enjoy it more. Th key element to getting motivated is liking what you do.

Start Slow

There is no rule about having to achieve immediate gains. Start slow, and go step-by-step. It is hard enough to adapt to the new routine, so don’t make it harder on yourself. In fact, practically nobody can get a flat stomach after a week at the gym, so don’t get anxious and remind yourself that everything takes its time.

Ditch The All-or-Nothing Mindset

Having the all-or-nothing mindset might be handy in life, but not when starting a new workout routine. In addition to taking things slow, it’s equally crucial to ditch such mindset. Actually, personal trainer Stephanie Mansour says that the main problem with people thinking like that, is having impossibly rigid standards doesn’t allow for any adaptation when life gets in the way.

Be Patient

Be patient with others and be patient with yourself. This valuable advice applies in all areas of your life. Patience is one of the hardest things to learn, yet it makes life so much easier. Visualize your success, and teach yourself to be patient, as you will achieve your goals faster with a positive mind.

Don’t Compare

Finally, do absolutely not compare yourself to others. Wether it is your trainer, your friend or a stranger at the gym. Everyone’s body and mind are different, and it makes no sense to compare results. Focus on doing your thing, and persistence will guide you to stick to your new workout routine.
